Basarass Biocon ( India) Private Limited was originally conceived to promote eco-safe and biotech methods in pest control by Mr. O. R. MURUGADASS Post graduates in Agriculture who was aware of the ill effects of the chemical pesticides to the food, environment and the human beings.

Basarass was started in the year way back in 1991 as a firm and was reconstituted as a private limited limited by 2000 was catering to the need of the local market within Tamil Nadu. The location of the factory was selected on the basis of the congregation of Sugar factories, which were ready to immediately implement this technology on a large scale. The locality was South Arcot (Cuddalore) district of Tamil Nadu.

After the immense success of these biotech products in the field of Sugar industry, we moved on to the other Major crops in Tamil Nadu and slowly dissolved our boundaries beyond Tamil Nadu. Within a span of 5 years, our company was having a national presence and supplying proven Biopesticide throughout the nation like the extreme rural borders of Rajasthan & Gujarat, deep Tea estates of Assam, Far off islands of U.T of Lakshadweep, chill and cold Haryana and nearby Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Pondicherry, Maharastra, Madhya Pradesh are a few to name.

Almost all the research institutes in India including the research bodies of Indian Council of Research (ICAR) have been using our products consistently for their various trials and research, which is an authenticated vouching for the quality consciousness of our company.

In the year 2000, Basarass Was renamed as Basarass Biocon (India) Private Limited and the constitution was changed to Limited Company. With this change, Our company’s innovative activities in the field of product development to target specific problems (we have a minimum of 35 hot selling Biopesticide and other bioproducts in the production line) and technology development has earned us the privilege of being listed among the top Bio-tech companies in the field of agriculture by Biotech Consortium of India Limited, New Delhi Which is a facilitating body for GOI for Biotechnology Industry in India.
